Rare second edition of this early German movable book. With 9 colored movable woodcut plates. This 1865 second edition has one more movable plate than the 1862 edition which had 8. The title page states (translated from German) : “improved and enlarged edition”. – Note: Later editions were published under the title "Lampart's zweites lebendiges Bilderbuch mit beweglichen Figuren. Zur Belustigung für Kinder - translated to Lampart's first living picture book (...)"
Condition: All movables are in fine – complete - all original – working condition. Tabs all original. Boards have some scuffing as shown in the photo. Moveable pages are still bound with original sewing string. Title page and fly leafs and first movable are re-attached. Binding cloth expertly replaced with archival period matching binding tape.
