Kubasta created pop-ups to be included in each of three ship models sold by Smer in the late 1980’s (according to Broward). We are fortunate to have acquired all three models. See our other offerings or email us for pricing and info on the other two, Bon Homme Richard and Santa Maria.

This one, Drakkar Oseberg, comes with a fold out pop-up of the ocean and two Viking ships (see photos). A plastic ship model is meant to sit in the Hole cut out for it on the diorama. Complete - The diorama and un-punched plastic ship and instructions are included as well as the original box. A historic background about the ship is printed on the box back. The pop-up and model ship are both in very fine condition. The original box has some bends and edge wear – see photos.

Collectors Corner:
According to Boward, The Oseberg ship is a well-preserved Viking ship discovered in a large burial mound in Norway. The ship dates from around 800, and may be older. This ship is widely celebrated and is considered one of the finest finds to have survived the Viking Age. The ship and some of its contents are displayed at the Viking Ship Museum, Bygdøy, Oslo.
