All pop-up sections are in all original in fine condition with no loss or tears. The original linen bellows are in great shape. See photos.

A similar peepshow of the Great Hall was also made that year – but it has less layers. This is the large one. 10 panels including cover. Being hand colored, these peepshows have great variations in color, ranging from subtle to bright. This one is very bright.

Considered to be the World’s first World’s fair, the 1851 great Exhibition was enthusiastically supported by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. A beautiful structure known as the Crystal palace the was built to house the exhibition. This peepshow depicts that gorgeous interior in a huge building built of glass and wrought iron. You can also see all the numerous statues, trees, and foliage that were brought in.
