Single Scene late 19th century ‘multiple layer’ pull-up or ‘stage set’ structure resembling the Little Showman’s series that were published by McLoughlin around the 1880s or the single theatrical pop-up’s by Loewensohn in Fureth Germany.
Quite unusual. This one by Capendu has a unique addition in that the front board folds down to make a “roof” for the stage set.
The text Story of Cindrillon appears upside down by design so that the roof can be folded down. A girl in the Pop-up is running while on fire.
4 level diorama "pop-up" scene is in wonderful shape and pops up perfectly with all original parts and original blue tabs. Slight edgewear to a couple of the levels. Covers have some edge paper loss. Pull up theater scene is in excellent condition, complete, working, and all original without repairs.
