Condition – Book
The book itself is in near fine condition
Boards are clean and beautiful having been protected by Dust jacket. Text pages are clean and sound. No heavy foxing or staining visible. The transformation plates are complete and functioning, with original pull tab present and intact; colors remain bright and well preserved. Only one slight tear ( picured) on reverse of one of he mechanical pages.
Tabs slightly grubby but all work well. Sewing and inner joints appear sound, with no evidence of loose or detached leaves. Overall, a very well-preserved example of a Nister transformation book, clearly handled with care.
Condition – Dust Jacket (Paper Wrapper)
The original publisher’s dust jacket is present but fragile, as expected, and should be described as fair to good only, with rarity outweighing condition.
The jacket shows significant edge wear, chips, and losses, particularly at corners and along the spine edge. There is noticeable toning, surface soiling, and handling wear. Portions of the margins are missing, and there are small stains and abrasion marks consistent with age and use. Importantly, the printed title and central illustration remain clearly legible, preserving the bibliographic and documentary value of the wrapper. See images
